  • From the Board Meeting of: JUNE 14, 2010

    1. Principal Phil Janicki and Teacher Diana Fraser and all of the five students from Brennan Creek Elementary presented a review of their school year, using their new SmartBoard.

    2. The Board approved an amended School Calendar and three applications for Community Connections grants to be forwarded to the Provincial Steering Committee for consideration.

    3. The Board approved an endorsement of host bid by the City of Kamloops for the “Cities Fit for Children” conference.

    4. Notice of Motion was provided for revised Policies 518.1 “Field Trips; 903.2 “Violence Free Environment”; and, 1121.1 “Corporate Sponsorship”.

MISSION STATEMENT:

TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES IN A CARING AND TRUSTING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL STUDENTS TO LEARN TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LEARNING AND BEHAVIOUR AND EXPERIENCE SUCCESS.

VISION:

TWIN RIVERS EDUCATION CENTRE WILL BE A POSITIVE CHOICE AS A HIGH SCHOOL IN KAMLOOPS. THE STAFF AT TREC WILL BE DISTRICT LEADERS IN SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY STANDARDS, ALTERNATE LEARNING STRATEGIES AND POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT SYSTEMS

School Goals:

 1. Increase student attendance to 90%.

 2. Maintain course completion rates at a minimum of two courses per semester.

 3. Increase student's ability to interact positively with peers and adults.
